A smile so sweet
A heart so bitter
Lace and ribbons on the outside
With the soul of a sinner

Trying her best
To make things right
Though all her feelings
Have gone from sight

An empty smile
For an empty soul
There is no heart
Just smothered coal
And in this void
There is no light
Though from the outside
It seems alright

So embrace the darkness
Forget the past
Something so sweet can never last
Theirs always a chance light can dim
And everyone is cursed with sin

So push me away
Close the box
Tie the ribbon
And lace the knots
For all there is
Is an empty box
