You Don't Believe In Love

 For my ex boyfriend

Try to pretend

I'm not hurt

Once again pushed aside

For your work far more important

I take second place

Gotta just a little too used to that lately

Started to feel like

I really should speak up

Headed for a second and final break-up

Cause I just can't be

With a man

Who won't let be a part of him

All work and no play

Slowly its poison is killing us

Robbing us of that second chance

I realize now

I never should have given you

For it's plain to see

What it is

You value more

Just hope that in the lonely years to come

You won't come to regret

The mountains of paperwork

You chose over me

To keep you warm at night

Used only when you need me

Only when you're willing

To fit in that smallest crumb of time

I won't be used again

The game was fun

For a while

But now it's over

On your own

Forever

You would have left us like this

Hangin' in limbo

Not anymore

No matter how much it hurts

No matter how many shattered tears

I know I'm gonna cry

I have to do

What I know in my heart is for the best

You've left me no choice

You don't believe in love, C

And neither do  I

At least not between us

Not anymore
