The Words
This feeling’s overwhelming,
Like an uncontrollable urge,
My heart, it pounds violently,
These thoughts I cannot purge,
I find myself aloft routinely
As if the clouds are now my home,
Apprehensively I search for you,
There is so much I wish to know,
Relentlessly my body shudders,
I cannot bear this insecurity
I think those words yet cannot say,
Such fear will soon engulf me,
All day long, my heart it aches,
I yearn for just your voice,
And here within the silence now,
I know I have no choice,
Soon within the darkness,
Upon your sleeping brow,
The words will slip forth from my lips,
And you will know somehow.
