Leaves crinkle in the night,
the moon shining bright.
Dark comes quickly here,
so there is much to fear.
The light flickers and dances;
in the pumpkin’s glowing face,
the wicked eyes watch as if in trances.
Those carved noses and eyes;
so perfectly done,
it is Halloween, so even the spirits have fun.
Beware for all that passes here,
the ghosts, ghouls, goblins and witches are near.
So if you wander out of bounds;
in your many assorted gowns.
Beware of all,
black cats, and other things,
all these objects,
Halloween brings.
