LISA-ANN

So Jeff’s finally asked Evette out?

JOHN

Yep. ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.’

LISA-ANN

Isn’t that a karate movie?

JOHN

(mocking her)

No, it’s not a ‘karate movie.’

LISA-ANN

Well, whatever it is.

JOHN

As a matter of fact, it’s a beautiful love story in the guise of a martial-arts film.  The disappearance of Li’s magical green destiny jade sword spurs a breathtaking quest for the missing treasure.  His unrequited pursuit of Yu is jeopardized by the mysterious intrusion of a sworn assassin. The assassin’s identity is gradually unveiled as a poignant tale of love unfolds between them.  It is set against the backdrop of Qing China's magnificent landscape.

They should go see ‘High Fidelity’ instead.  It has this character sort of like Jeff who works at a record store.

JOHN

Well Evette wanted to see ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.’  Besides, I want to see it again too.

LISA-ANN

Wait, you’re going with them?

JOHN

Yes.

LISA-ANN

Well, it’s not a real date then.

JOHN
