it took just a whisper
to awaken dreams of you
a soft, gentle whisper
from your lips made them come true
I'd open my eyes
to the sunrise in your stare
hovering above me
outlined by your blonde hair
the more love your eyes reflected back
the less I knew to say
finally we connected
but love was still a whisper away

with just the whisper of my name
I became a better man
your words sparked a flame
of warmth and understanding
emerald tears would flood your eyes
while I kissed your ruby fingertips
and gold sparkled in your hair
as you gently touched my lips
the more treasures I protected
the less I knew to save
finally we connected
but love was still a whisper away

it seemed just a moment
yet was filled with forever
now all that I recall
is that we were together
the more that I recollect
the less I know today
finally we connected
