Ribbons Of Poetry
Karyn Indursky
unfold my poetry like a flower
to gather the seeds for growing
new opportunities unraveling gifts
of an unknown tomorrow
with a pocket full of promises
awaiting our adventures
through poetic movements
as we explore and flourish
in presents of learning
not only in writing,
but also in trust
and tucking those secrets
in our treasure chest
or chambers of our heart
for safe keeping.
unfold my poetry like a blouse
to wear upon your body
feeling my friendship's warmth
for fresh starts dancing
like twinkling stars singing
harmonic songs of poetry
as we grow as writer's
and behind your ear
I spy a pink ribbon
supporting our breast cancer
and linking us as women
trying to find a cure
for issues deeper than diseases
known and those not.
