Lumberjack Firely

Lumberjack Firefly

Karyn Indursky

Spun sand hair blows delicately
in the wind with tire swinging eyes
laughing. Her lady bug legs pump
to touch picked pumpkin skies
while she daydreams. Daisy soft
hands hold on to climbed tree
ropes. Harmonic giggles escape
her sun ripened plum lips when
her chained popcorn sandals fall
off her painted canned cranberry
toes. Higher and higher she goes
as she closes her eyes to imagine
flying in campfire skies like
a lumberjack firefly.
