The mirror hangs on the wall,
It's telling me to comb my hair.
It keeps the toothpaste off my chin,
Shows me if I've buttoned with care.
When I'm not being careful,
It tells me such various things,
Like I can never be pretty,
To the world I've nothing to bring.
Much quicker than imagined,
It's convinced me I'd never be cool.
As I look into my reflection,
I've forgotten it's only a tool!
I've given it more power,
Than God had ever planned for me,
It's only use is to freshen up,
Not to tell me who I will be.
To learn who I am as a person,
I must look through my Father's eyes,
It is only in His Word and Love,
That I will find where the true me lies.
Heavenly Father look at me,
Show me what you want me to know,
Your truth is what I want to live,
So it's Your glory my life shows.
