My grandfather is the type of sport fanatic that likes to watch every sport, no matter how boring you may think it is. There are three different places you can watch TV in my grandparent’s house, however my grandfather always watches sports in the same room, in his tall comfy chair with his tecate light in a tigres large cup, admiring the big samsung flat screen TV, that is always on no matter what. There, he enjoys to watch soccer, major league baseball, minor league baseball, football, racquetball, tennis, golf, hockey, and I would not be surprised if he secretly enjoys watching cricket. Whenever he wants to appreciate two different games at the same time, he plays it old school and turns on the radio so he doesn’t miss a detail of either game. He is not the type of fan that whenever their team loses, they try to look at the bright side and hope for a better season next year, he instead likes to shout at the TV for 5 or 10 minutes after watching the game that eliminated his respective team from title contention, and often sheds a tear about it. My grandmother, really being a minister of holy communion, feels forced to wear the jersey of the team my grandfather is passionate about, and cheer for them, literally praying for a win, otherwise she knows a long night is awaiting her. My grandfather has an impressive photographic memory, he can tell you how many birdies Jack Nicklaus made in the 1986 Masters, what was the score of Tigres vs Rayados game in 1991, between other jaw dropping facts. Every Saturday, we visit my grandparents and eat at their place. I can’t remember one time I did not hear the TV in that particular room playing at its máximum volume so that my grandfather can hear the TV while we were eating, since my grandmother has prohibited the TV of the dining room from playing while the family was eating, due to the fact that she knew my grandfather would unconsciously draw his full attention to the TV. Whenever there is an important game, my grandfather calls me and ask me to watch it with him, because he is just like me, he prefers to watch the important games alone or with someone who knows the sport just as much as he does. I can recall a couple of times when my grandmother approached my grandfather telling him that she had just got off the phone with a friend wanting to go have dinner with them, and he turns it down because he doesn't want to miss the game. Everything my grandfather says, he says it in a funny way, he makes his abnormal fanaticism for sports something enjoyable for the whole family, and has made me adopt his beautiful passion for sports.
