you know
I've been stalking you
lately in my mind
I see you in grocery stores
standing in parking lots
your long ago smile
fills my heart in downtown windows
to the point where I can see you
in any eating establishment
walking purposely towards me
the essence of your presence
permeates my every other thought
I can no longer shoo you from
the loveliest corridors of my mind
for you step up from my heartbeat's
strongest chamber and pop your
image into my bedazzled thoughts
every chance you get
you are to me
so like
'A Very Beautiful Nightmare'
I can't wake up from
but unlike a true nightmare
nor would I ever wish to
I'd rather stay in there with you
roaming the grocery stores,
strolling the parking lots
eying the window fronts
and enjoying those eating places
with you never far from me
smiling just the way I like you to
like I am the only thing of any real
importance in your life...............
