such treachery
is remorse
valiant souls
bloodied
in a cause
homes lost
lives destroyed
families torn apart
from struggles
emerge conflict
conflict ravenously feeds
that bully war
and people die
for concrete reasons
we know not for
revenge is a dirty wound
that dirty hands cannot
help but endanger
even if they only wish to help
a savage grace
threads the barrier of this
rag tag army
but keep in mind
David Slayed Goliath
with but the Lord's help
and his own
'Cachet Of Courage'
for when indignation
combines with hope
to burn in a man's heart
entire Kingdoms
can collapse
viciously ruling
their innocent subjects
no more
and from such unfair flames
a fledgling democracy is born
and if tended to wisely
a thriving global partner
that fosters its citizens growth
to weave their country into
the world partner it should have
long since been.....................

Author's Notes/Comments:
written for the anti government fighters in Libya who keep slogging it out even though they are out armed and out trained in the matters of warfare. To think, this all started with peaceful demonstrations inspired by them seeing what was going on in Tunisia and Egypt and they want their rights too and it has escalated into a war brought on by a man who desperately wants to cling to power. He can claim all he wants that he is doing this for his country but when his son goes on Television and talks about killing the rats door to door to squash this up rising that could make the whole world's blood run cold. I just pray when all this is over that in the vacuum of the aftermath of war that someone worse doesn't slip into power and that the people carefully choose how their government will be changed and just who they will elect to lead them and hopefully finally start seeing to their needs rather than lining the leader and his inner circle's pockets with the country's oil revenues. This poem is my prayer and hope for the tenacious brave people of Libya.........
