and the Piper shall lead us............
how those very words trailed from my brain
after having put down the traumatic volume
depicting the incarnation of your tragically
enlightening tale
leadership comes
at many levels and costs
beloved brother soldier
you received the hardest of hardship's lot
and Lot himself would have been so proud
if but he could speak of your valley today
I remain a faithful raw believer
and you have smoothed out the edges
of my own path's winding
in a warm and guileless way
from your lasting ordeal
rises God's message
far more sure footed than the fable
of Phoenix
distributing to the soul's new wisdom
no matter how terrible the flesh's trauma
God decides when and who will see him
I thank you for sharing your struggles and courage
your path in this life stands challenged yet resolute
blind shepherd to an even blinder flock
you once (self admitted) were
ah, but scarred soldier of hope
you gladly became
thank you for teaching one more of God's 
gentle lambs
with but the hard earned wisdom of your
own journey's pain
from this moment on
upon reading your experience
a spiritual mentor for me
you shall remain
God's love becomes you quite well
I wish you brother in spirit
an eternal delight filled life's day.................
