I am in love with you

have been

likely

since oh the second

moment or two

you drown me in your love

through all your praise

I had to swim

to get to the other side

of the right side of in

so deep

just like I dreamed

and even deeper together

we too often seem

for me, your love is like a grenade

so big, so powerful

so unpredictable

life changing to the very grave

you warned you are too sensitive

and I am finding this out more and more

big events with big painful endings

we have been through this revolving

door before

deep in your soul you know I love you

but your insecurity from the past you

lived

rises in you and promotes fear

and you tar me from my joking words

with the muck left over from another

I am not her

never will be

that I must make clear

I will not butcher you

I have showed you in innumerable ways

how so very much I love you

I am here for the long stay

I made a mistake yet again

after all I am just a woman

a mere fallible human

I misjudged what your reaction would be

it changes nothing

I still love you more than my next breath

though I inadvertently wounded you

when all I wanted to do was

make you feel missed

and smile so tenderly

at realizing this

there are no others

with me you hold the

truest sway

I was longing for you and waiting

hoping to see you

I played the petulant woman

what you took as barbs

i sent as playful

secure lover's love notes

you know I would never choose any

mere young boy over you

that would be like choosing a

dime store ring over the hope diamond

I'm silly but not that stupid

please love me again
