this American girl

well, not so much a girl anymore

but rather a transitional woman

some years now into her transition

she finds herself moved to speak

and share with you the words and intimacy of

experience garnered from living the life

she has chosen to live

a poet at every turn

life supplies its own words

and companionship is a precious commodity

not to be taken lightly

beauty is in one's ability to

separate the knower from the known.......
