whenever 'Hail To The Chief' begins to play
behind the backs of many the snickers start to roar
for the famed politician of the day
a defiant satirist term at best
why, whatever happened to the faithful, stodgy
leaders of old who could only seem to bore us
with their obvious amateur jest
now one-ups-man-ship seems rules hearty and strong
while nobody seems to care about the gray areas
between what used to be right and wrong
its all about who looks better or smells prettiest
in the eyes of the public
when the foul stench permeates through the current
scam
democracy is no longer a safe nor fair term
in regards to we, the common man
but rest assured, my dear sir
Mr. Joe Public himself for the current status
quo will be forced to do an about face
and all will rush to tow his own line
as in this shaky existence we like to label as
the human race
truth and time have their own ways of ratting
out and ridding us of all the unwelcome kind.........
