SUMMER HAS HERSELF A SECRET *

Folder:
JOURNAL # 38

the afternoon hotly titters
to my eyes
'Summer Has Herself A Secret'
the waffling wind rustles
back to lavishly reply
something no solstice
could ever deny
the hot pavement of my driveway
warns my scorched bare feet
to hurry along before blisters
barrage their unsuspecting soles
the autumn stands not far off
yet ignorantly induced by the sight of
trees all a green
Summer does indeed have herself a
delicious secret
that its the fall where love will fully
come into focus and bloom
bright glorious love will pulsate and swoon
as the trees strip themselves bare of
their colors like a haphazard groom
in early October he will touch down
and be here
and my heart can breathe in love
yet again..............
