once
life had a partner
a being
the LIVERS (of life) called
work
work was everywhere one cared to look
now
no such thing as work
exists
well not anymore really
for work found itself
suddenly uprooted
and exported
for no really good offered reason
to lurk and scatter
defeated and beat down
throughout the back streets of numerous lesser
generous countries
eager to gobble work up so greedily
and devour its very soul
until there in those yet fully discovered places
stripped of its former status and mutual respect
work wobbles along
gasping and weakened
just a vague outline of its once impressive self
Work
just how the Livers remembered it
bridge to
a better life
the rock solid
(or so they thought)
foundation
all American dreams
were built on
where as now
work is but
an idea of something that
middle class Americans
once could rely on
hope for a better
tomorrow
drained
dry of any real
pride
its over this
that the LIVERS
continue to cry
as
no more dependable work
means security
Minus The Net.....
the end
