Sad Why do my dreams always haunt?
My mind creates goals
I'll never achieve,
So out of the question,
I wish they would leave.
My heart set on dreams
That never come true,
I used to be happy,
I just never knew.
My eyes always searching
For my happy end,
For my fairy tale ending,
I'll have to pretend.
My life ain't no movie,
It sure ain't no book.
No princess to rescue,
But still worth a look.
No dragons to slay,
No battles to win,
Maybe it gets better,
Closer to the end.
Wish I could skip pages,
And move further on,
I guess that these hard times,
Are a sine qua non.
To all of the happiness,
Which I hope to find,
The goals and the dreams,
Which torment my mind.
