Slamming doors and lion roars
no way to live my life.
love all gone a stranger stands
what happened to my wife.

children cower and fists turn to power
what happened to this house.
eggshells cracking each word a landmine.
be quiet as a mouse.

Tears they fall on the cheeks of all
anger fills the room.
little hearts break in every frown
yelling sonic booms.

swallow these pills before the hatred spills
further down the spiral.
silence so loud it makes me deaf
fear it spreads so viral.

Pictures on the wall smiles lie to all
better times back then.
Promises gone the walls and hearts are bare
I wonder why and when.
