My father’s motivation
For me, the most important thing my father owns is his motivation to do anything he has on mind. Maybe this sounds cheesy, but when I think about my father, the first thing that comes to my mind is work. I see him as the kind of man who is always doing something, I’m not even kidding, for as long as I can remember, he is been having monthly projects, in which he spends one or two days a week trying to complete them. It doesn't matter if it's a painting job in the house or a mechanical thing he has to fix in his car, he’s a working guy and you can notice he loves to be like that. It is really interesting how someone can find so many things to do. Even now that he is an older man, he still finds a way to be “active” (which is ironic because he justifies his lack of exercise saying he’s “too busy” doing other stuff). But yeah! He is a hell of a guy, I’m not saying he is “unique”, but he is pretty exceptional and I’m proud to say that. Another thing that is characteristic about my old man is that, when he is having his work days, you can feel an energetic vibe through the whole house; you can be doing your own stuff, but trust me! It is impossible not to notice my father working. I mean… it’s not like he is being annoying and he wants to get everybody’s attention, it’s just like … you get “infected” by this good mood “disease”. And yes! I know what you are thinking “Who the hell wants to be doing something all the time?” I have thought about it too, and the answer my mind finds more logical is that all his life he’s being struggling to get a better life for his family, so now that “working hard” lifestyle has become a big part of who he is today. My father has inspired me through all this years; I have learned so many positive things because of him. “School comes first” and “Don’t judge without proofs” are the main beliefs my dad taught me, but the most important thing he has shared with me is what my grandfather told him when he was finishing high school: “If you want to be someone in life, you need to find a goal and a motivation, then you’ll figure out the rest.”
