I long to be without the pain

Of a silent phone

And to be without the  faint

Beat

Of a broken heart inside me.



I will never be the life

And soul of the party

I just can’t pretend

The way that you do

And when you hurt me

It’s so casually too

I wish I’d never

Met you.



I long to be on my own

In a house, with an empty bed

I wish your name

Had never been said

And maybe I’d sleep

With a peaceful head
