Different Colors

Colors have many diverse meanings,

Depending on where you live,

One country might honor black for it's peacefulness,

In another country it may mean something evil.

In America, we attend a funeral in black,

In India, white is for death,

So if I ever wear white to a funeral in New York,

Half of the mourners will be holding their breath!!

Green most all over the world,

Stands for new life, regeneration and hope,

In a handful of places it means those things as well,

But also can mean envy and jealousy.

Blue means a variety of different things in the world,

In politics it stands for liberalism in America,

But in the UK and Europe, blue means conservatism,

And in Israel, blue the color of their Coat of Arms.

Varied meanings you see, when we gather the colors,

And we have disussed only a couple of them here,

The Chakras in all of us have colors that shine

And all have their own meaning, too.

When in conversation with people from other lands,

It is good to know this about color meanings,

Because some people can become indignant, even rude,

If they felt disrespect by use of a color is exuded.

I do not think there is a color for hatred,

Because hatred is 'custom made',

Hate has a special color all to itself,

Because hatred happens when we hate ourself,

And the opposite of love is fear,

Anger can be expressed as a few different colors,

In some places it's fiery red,

I look to the colors of nature, instead.
