Every second

Of every minute

Of every hour

Of every day

I’m in the fight

To do what’s right

A constant battle

Between my heart and mind

If I stop and think

Again I’ll find

I’m in the fight

I got them gloves on though

Taking a stand so

I can win

Waiting for that

“I accomplished it” grin

To change my day to day

From unmanageable

To the responsible way

I can do it

If I keep my mind to it

Change my thinking

To positive from stinking

I can do it

If I put my energy into it

Keep my eye on the prize

And be good to myself

I’m all I got

So I ask for help

To remove the knuckle white

Focus on my future – BRIGHT

I can do it

One minute at a time

Express emotions

And I’ll be just fine

Examine my feelings

Don’t run from dealing

With life

On life’s own terms

Allow myself to fall thru

All my many shades of blue

I got to go thru

To get to

And I CAN do it
