Faithful and True

The murmurings of a battered soul

Empowered by the selfish and cold

Hearted ones

Being true to thine self

At the expense of compassion

And human reactions

To pain and disappointment.

Who gives a damn?

I do!

To mine own self be true.

And I refuse to believe

When in Rome

Do as the Romans do

Or by default the majority wins.

When the blind leads the blind

We all sin

And regress

Into darkness.

Not me

I’m following the white horse

No matter its course.

Over stones and mountains,

Broken glass and dreams

Litter the man made streams

Powered by hope and damnation.

Ostracized for belonging to

The true nation

I stand alone

Like a single dove

Alighting the pew.

What do you do?
