Why are you beset with gloom?
I can see it, from your drooping shoulders
And sagging lids,
Half veiling, those red teary eyes
How come you are so distraught?
Cumbered with the burden of shame:
Your face marred from sadness’s beatings
Unalleviated by even the sweetest of days
What makes you feel so neglected?
Your countenance bewildered:
Succumbed to loneliness’s
Beckoning cries?
Is it the emptiness of this world?
Its shallow surface,
Its transitory crusts:
Those, whom like its inhabitants who roam it,
Will fade with the certainty of time
Is there a void that needs a filling?
There is a man who can stand the test of time.
