A Christmas Present for Lonnie

Folder:
Poems to Donna

For Christmas, I gave pickle juice to Dutch;
I think he liked it much.
I remembered a long time ago he said he did pickle juice drink;
Apparently, he didn't care about how much it would stink.
He was very afraid to open my surprise;
But, about presents, I tell no lies.
I wouldn't try to trick him;
Or with pain inflict him.
For, we are becoming friends because of you;
You never make me feel blue.
This Christmas, I have been very giving;
And by writing poetry, I am making an enjoyable living.
This Christmas is about giving more than receiving;
And, I will never stop believing;
That writing poetry changed my life;
So that I don't have to live in strife.
