My Common-Law Wedding

Self Poetry I created my own common-law wedding;
It is not a day I will soon be forgetting.
Because I have a monkey on my back;
I decorated a part of my apartment with pretty knick-knacks.
I had previously written my wedding vows;
Because I am creative and know how.
We got pictures taken, too;
It was not a day that made me feel blue.
I also created a big project of poetry in a wedding book;
With lots of signatures of friends I took.
It was a very big accomplishment for me;
I'm as happy as a real newlywed can be.
For it was a job that took much work;
Because I have a need-to-be-creative quirk.
It is a very good memory;
To hold in my heart, and will always be
A good day in my relationship; not a bad one;
A day of happiness and not a sad one.
