I cannot stop blaming myself
for ruining what we had.

I lost the best thing in my life,
and I spent so much time
not trusting you
that I didn’t even see it.

I cannot forgive myself
for ever questioning
your motives.

You never did anything
to make me think you
didn’t have a pure heart.

But my past and other people
overshadowed our relationship.

I spent so much time waiting
for you to prove your love
that I missed it
when you showed it
in your own way.
