Love Me for My Vices

You give me nothing
when you remind me
of my beauty.

And when you call
the less attractive
beautiful you may
increase their esteem
but you also distort
the definition of beauty.

If you love me for
all my good qualities,
I have gained nothing.

But if you love me
for my flaws,
that is true love.

If you love me
more than in spite
of my impressions,
but rather
because of them,
you have given
me the world.
