Is faith just a list of
regulations and restrictions?
Are we slaves to a law
and bound to mercy’s limits?

In my rebel nature,
I won’t follow your rules
and your boundaries are
just chalk marks I will cross.

I don’t obey authority figures
so if you come to me
with condemnation,
I will spite your name.

But approach me as a lover,
a seeker after my heart
ready to sweep me off my feet,
and I'm yours.

After all, belief was
supposed to set us free,
not become another prison
when we just escaped the world.

We were never meant to feel
like we were still in bondage;
love liberated us so we can
live in the truth of his grace.
