There comes a point
when you stop seeking
the approval of people
that always reject
or criticize you.

So you look elsewhere,
everywhere,
anywhere,
until you find it.

Sometimes at the expense
of everything you believe in.

Sometimes you risk yourself
to find something that
has eluded you all your life.

And I found acceptance
in the unlikeliest of places,
in the arms of a man
strong enough to hold me together.
