Society We hurt each other
involuntarily and intentionally,
sometimes on a daily basis.
We justify the things we do
by saying another person
causeed our evil deeds.
We never take responsibility
for our actions,
always blaming someone else.
We continue to inflict pain
on the same people
in the same ways.
We all have a history;
there's a blueprint on our skin
of all of our scars.
We are writing the stories
that have been engraved
for generations before us.
Some of our stories
are written with tears,
others with blood.
They start and end the same,
more broken people to
carry on the tradition.
