You hide behind a patent leather smile,
watching the world go by,
spinning you out of control.
Rage contained in a pill bottle,
slammed down like memories,
deep within your soul.
Your eyes forced to stay open,
like a porcelain doll,
staring silently off in space.
Door locks and lights go off,
you're off to slumber tonight.
Sweet dreams or so it seems.
Everyone watches your moves,
they want to know your secrets.
Even the asylum is afraid,
one day you might wake up and realize,
you're on the other side of the door.
