Fable
The Dog and the Lion
A dog wakes up in the middle of an apocalyptic era where there are no humans left, of course, he is not used to live by it's own, so he is on a hard situation, now he have to learn how to survive by any means. Suddenly he finds itself with a fearful lion, which with the time becomes friend with the dog and teaches him how to hunt, how to find a good place to sleep and how to defend himself in dangerous situations, anything necessary for his survival. Right after the dog masters the necessary techniques to survive, the lion became a savage and tried to eat the dog. The dog was shocked, how come his friend became such a monster. After a large persecution, the dog found a safe place where the lion was out of his reach. Weeks passed and the Lion realize what he did, and how rude he was with the dog, so he decided to go and ask for forgiveness to the dog. He arrived to the dog’s shelter and knocked the door, the dog opened the door shaking, with so much fear, and the dog started talking:
Dog: What
Lion: Hello there
Dog: What do you want!?
Lion: My friend, i'm so sorry i don't know what happened to me could you forgive me?
Dog: okay, but explain to me, what happened back there?
Lion: i don’t know, i think it was an impulse
Dog: do you think it might happen again?
Lion: no, i promise it won’t happen again
Dog: Okay
Of course, their friendship wasn’t the same after that, now for every action that the lion make the dog would worry, but still they hanged out like they used to, even though the dog knew it was dangerous. Until one day, the lion realizes that the dog was still afraid of him, action that makes him sad, making him decide that he should leave town and think about a way of helping dog stop being afraid. During the time he was out he realized that dog wasn’t really his friend, he was just using him to learn survival skills, he was truly deeply mad, and couldn’t believe what was happening, and decided to go back town and confront dog. As soon as Lion came back to town, he went directly to dog’s house.
Lion: Hi dog (faking a smile)
Dog: Hi pal!
Lion: If you value your life, you better tell me the truth
Dog: what are you talking about?
Lion: Are you my friend or were you only using me?
Dog: ammm….
Lion: that’s all i needed to hear.
At the instant the Lion finished talking, he pursued dog, killed him and then ate him.
With this fable, is giving a lesson trust, in this case is that you shouldn’t trust anyone, because even the smallest can betray you. In this case the lion wasn't a bad friend, the bad one was the dog because he became the Lion’s friend just to use him as a source of protection.
