Waiting

I spend my whole life waiting

I often wonder for what

I know that soon my train will come

And I will go off to my destination

-But…

Where do I truly want to go?

I know it’s somewhere with you

-Although…

What do I really want from you?

In our time spent,

Perhaps, our whole life through.

I could say I want eternity,

But that’s already here.

I’m living in the wake of a not so distant year

That keeps on plowing through the brine

Darling, all I want in this transitory time

Is to never settle in my ways and stay with you

And call you mine.

For this I can wait the rest of eternity

If that is how long it will take

For this dream to end, it’s beautiful enough,

But ‘twill be more so when we’re awake.
