Striking Gold or Playing with Madness

Folder:
Other Stuff

Under the slide in a park somewhere in Texas.

At a church lock in late one night.

At a movie house, monastery, or on the radio.

Things can look like they'll be alright.

At a restaurant, arcade, or fireworks stand

or a place we can all feel as one.

At home, in a chatroom, or hanging with friends

or watching the rising sun.

There's a thin line between striking gold

and playing with madness.

If you can't do one or the other

life can be full of sadness.

More ups than downs, more earth than anything.

A few sevens or eights or nines.

Quite a few differences, quite a few changes.

Quite a few crazy times.

Full or doubt, full of fear, or full of love,

full of insanity or hope.

Strike one, strike out, or maybe strike gold.

Or strike something that can help you cope.

There's a thin line between striking gold

and playing with madness.

If you can't do one or the other

life can be full of sadness.
