This isn't about the movie,
or show.
This isn't the protrayal of
redemptive life.
This is about a few phrases
he speaks to his persuer.
Freeing him with no conditions
or bargains.
Not expecting leniency for his
actions toward Javert.
At that particular time,
the inspector shares his view
that he wouldn't let Valjean go.
Yet still he did it anyway,
not holding Jalvert responsible.
Yet I look and see resemblences,
in me.
I am not a prisoner,
who had escaped,
or been charged with a crime,
but I am treated differently.
I don't expect to be treated better
because I do something
for someone.
I do not expect acts of kindness
or love,
when I give it to someone.
I do not expect generousity,
or anything in return.
But I won't change how I
treat the people in my life.
Even at the end of it all,
if I do not receive,
I will still give,
I am Valjean.
