Ups n downs ya we’ve them all, we’ve watched love grow

Now we watch it fall

You held my close, I held you back

The cold crept in and our grip snapped

Now as you walk away I see what I did

You see me for who I am and how I let you down

We used to be the envy of this town

Now all we are are lovers down



So thanks for the times we shared

And I thank u for how u cared

You picked me up when I needed

You made me strong when I was weakened



And that’s just the way love goes

You got to love it when you got it

And if she lets you have it

Don’t take it for granted



Now a memory is all I have of you

No more photographs no more cuddling too

And when I hear that song, the one from way back when

You sat in my arms and I thought I loved you then
