Darkness surrounds me
Above me
Below me
It engulfs me
I look around
Hold out my hand

Yet there is
No other
Hand to hold

Then all at once
I feel
Not alone
I am surrounded
By spirits
Beautiful souls
That of me
Have grabbed a hold

And refuse
To let go
And all at once
I feel at peace
As the darkness
Starts to fade
I am protected
And in the light
They shine
Now all around me

I do stand
Content
And happy
