Why Can't We Be Free (Of Hate and Intolerance)
How much of what we see
When we look at somebody
Is what we are supposed to see
And how much of it is
What society says
We should see
Hatred and judgement
Are taught
Yes they are learned
But not born
In my opinion
Hatred for something
Or someone
We just don't understand
Is not what we were
Born for
We are born
To learn from each other
And help each other
Yet we seem to
Fall victim of blind hate
More and more
Day after day
Without a logical
Reason for it
Being that way
We are human they say
It is our way
Then explain people like me
Because hate has
Never been
My way
And I have never been
Nor will I ever be
The only one
