Surrounded by insanity
The reality I see
A darkness
So maddening

Always driving me
Oh so crazy

To the point

Of not even
Being able to think

At least not clearly
Which brings a sadness
I can't seem to shake
As my soul it all
Does try to break
While all my sanity
It slowly takes
My energy drains
Every day it's all the same
Like I'm stuck playing a game
I never agreed to play
In the first place
And no matter how hard I try
I lose more and more every day
As on my thoughts
And feelings
The darkness does prey
Trying so hard just
To make my light fade
But fade it does not
As I gather my strength
And back I do fight
With a might
Never before seen
The madness
From me now
Does flee
As the darkness
No longer haunting
Now belongs to me
Under my control
It protects my light
Which now gives it
A purpose
A voice
An outlet
The battle long fought
Peace now goes to the victor
The insanity
Once so controlling
Now powerless
To do anything
For its power
Now belongs to me
As the insanity
Once so cocky
Does fall at my feet
Reluctantly
Admitting defeat
You answer to me now
Yes you belong to me
