The country
That claims to be
So progressive
Other countries
Should want

To follow in its footsteps
Has a horrible habit
Of fighting to abolish
Women's rights
Gays rights too
Seriously U.S. 
What is wrong with you
Not to mention the never ending
Nightmare that is the 
Fight against gun violence
Another tragedy
Children dead
NRA only cares
About their guns
And dollar signs instead
Tell me America
Will this hell
Ever fucking end

Going backwards
More often than forwards
Day after day

Never ending tragedy

Those on the right
And in the NRA
Lying to your face
Making you feel
Like it's all still alright
While thanks to your ignorance
Their pockets are lined
This is the reality of our time

Political
Indoctrination
On lets be honest
Both fucking sides
Controlling a nation
That has forgotten
How to for themselves
Even think
Let alone how to care
About scenes 
Such as these
Parents and loved ones
Crying waiting for news
On if their child
Is even still alive
Three mass shootings
In ten days
Far too many children
Who never went home today
And because of the NRA
Far too many still think
Everything with gun laws
Are ok
Tell me society
How can you truly be
That fucking insane
And what else will it take

Before even you realize 
That things must finally change
