Her Mayday

Folder:
Depression

She stares at the world

Lost in thought

She doesn’t know where to go

Confusion had caught

She was in a bind

Stuck in a mess

Raking her mind

Sending out an S.O.S.

She beckoned for help

Cried night and day

Yet no one heard her sobs

This was her mayday:

Someone save me from this pain

In my world the darkness reigns

I am held down, cold and alone

I need someone to take me home

Rescue me my shining knight

Take me out of this night

Make my heart sing, fly away

Show me the light of day

The days dragged on

Ever painful, ever more

Yet she had to be strong

No matter what’s in store

Waiting for her rescuer

The one who’d save

Knew he’d be there for her

She hoped he would one day

She cried all her heart

Shed her weight in tears

Her life was torn apart

Controlled daily by her fear

Yet she held onto the parts

Held onto hope and a dove

Knew she’d one day have her start

With the one she’d always love

She was still down on the ground

Out of breath and without sound

Yet somehow she managed to say

Repeat once more her mayday:

Someone take me out of this rain

Clothes the tears have so stained

I am down, nearing the drown

I need a lift up off the ground

Save my hope from the floor

I can’t endure much more

Someone help me find a way

Before the end of this... day.
