God showed me you

I thought I had fallen

I was definitely obsessed

I was always callin’

Of me he took the best

Don’t know why I was falling

Don’t know what he possessed

My condition was appalling

I couldn’t even rest

Until one ordinary day

I wished he’d disappear

And the following day

He was nowhere near

What an incidence!

I pretended to be fine

Too much of a coincidence

I was convinced it was a sign

I had to move on

It wasn’t an easy task

To really look beyond

For God’s help I did ask

My prayers were in secret

I needed to forget

I truly can’t believe it

An angel I just met

He was kind and sweet

Fairly good-lookin’

Did I really just meet

A fish worth hookin’?

I give thanks to God

He helped me through

My unrequited love

And showed me you

Author's Notes/Comments:
