Riding SunShadows
sunshadows roll lazily across
mountains and valleys
my soul travels along
the landscape vicariously
smiling my spirit
at the majestic simplicity
of nature in all her glory
Arizona winds blow cool
warning winter is soon to arrive
and as I let this day
envelope the whole of me
within its chilly autumn breeze
I begin to reach
through the veil of seasons
chasing warmer days
fluttering ripples
of summers shades
that spill out across
a setting October sun
painting my world in hues
of red and burnt orange
losing myself in the whimper
of day as she lets go
giving way to the mystery of night
where I find myself grounded
beneath a sparkle of truth
and a glimmer of hope
in that “what is, is,
and what can be
...indeed, can be."
