I needed you

That’s all that I can say

For all the years you’ve been gone

You loved me yes

But you left me still

And there’s nothing much I can say

If you try to insist

I have only pain

To share and give to you

For all the years you weren’t here

I dealt with so much longing

I look at moms with their kids in tow

And I wonder where you have gone

But would it matter now

Now that I am old

And have learned to be without your love

I needed you

That’s all that I can say

But you were never there

So why bother?
