I could have been a writer just like you

Or an artist just like Papa

I could have been an executive like Lolo

Or a great mother like Lola



For people’s rights I could have fought

Just like what Tito had done

Or like Tita, a dentist, I’d thought

I could have been more if I weren’t gone



I could have made you all so proud

If only you have been brave

I could be a stand out in a crowd

If only I have been saved



Now that you are sad and in tears

I could have been there to hug  you

But mom all that’s left is to watch from up here
