I don’t need to help you
I can let you lie in pain
Should you slip into the darkness
Then I neither loose nor gain
Tears may flood your being
And soak you to the bone
But I don’t need to dry them
When I have to dry my own
Your agonizing wound by me
Does not need to be licked
Though could need have not employed
If that I did inflict
I don’t need to help, but hinder-
Why would I do that?
My hill will not be climbed
By keeping you upon your flat
Some build their towers on others pain
Others on joy lay stone
Though neither one will be complete
Without foundations of their own
No, I don’t need to help you
I don’t need to even care
But in this globe of joy and woe
I’d rather have you there
