the sailor

she cameunexpected

a summer breeze

refreshing and cool

i set sail with her

to flirt a while with the waves

frolic in the ocean spray

because i had always loved the sea

had not foreseen breeze could turn to torrent

beyond this gentle bay

a tiny ship gets lost out there

alone in the deep blue sea

or runs aground on foreign shores

or looses all bearings evermore

still i am no longer at ease

here on this familiar shore

i am learning to trust the winds

my sails cannot contain

to love the sea for its ... unity

to see the continents' fluidity

and she has been a part of this

i love her for showing me

i am a sailor

before she set me

back on shore
